Catalog Questions

“General Reserve” books are available at the Access Services desk for shared use. They can be checked out for 2 hours, must stay in the library, and cannot be reserved. You can scan pages using the free book scanner and email them to yourself or save them to a flash drive. Alternatively, you can read the book in the library.

Books we have in our collection that are checked out cannot be requested from other libraries. You can place a hold on the book in Primo.

Faculty/Staff (Main Campus): Delivered to your department office. Return at the Access Services Desk or book drops.

ARC: Items marked as ARC under Item Location in the catalog are located in the Automated Retrieval Center connected to the Main campus library. They will need to be requested online to be pulled for you. The process takes under an hour. You will be emailed when your request is ready for check out at the Access Services desk.

Visitors and Community Members: John C. Hitt library is open to the public. To use UCF public computers please go to the LibTech desk on the ground floor to get a guest password. To use online resources you will need to get a separate guest password at the LibTech desk.

Hitt Maker Podcast Studio: The Hitt Maker Podcast Studio is currently closed. It will relocate to the new Digital Exploration Center on the 4th floor, opening Spring 2026.
